Do I need to bring identification in order to vote?

Many states require you to provide identification when voting at the polls. Some may require a state-issued or a photo ID. What is considered acceptable identification varies among states. Some states do not require ID documents at the polls at all and rely on a signature match.

To find out your state's identification requirements click in the Election Official Directory. Choose your State and Region to find the link to your Local Elections Website. You can go to that site for more state specific information. If your region does not have a website, you will have to contact your local election official, you can find this information in the Election Official Directory.
