What hours can I vote on Election Day?

The opening and closing times of polling sites vary by state. The closing time indicates the time by which you must be in the queue to vote – not the time by which you must have already voted.

For example if the time the poll closes is 7:00 p.m. and you are in line at 7:00 p.m., you must be allowed to vote.

To find your polling hours…

  1. Go to the State Voting Requirements directory.

  2. Choose your State and submit.

  3. Scroll to the State Lookup Tools section.

  4. Click the link for “Where is my Polling Place?”.

If it is not clear from the polling place lookup service, you can navigate to your state’s website to find information regarding polling hours. Polling hours can often be found in your state’s FAQ section.
