How old do I have to be to vote?

You must be 18 years old to vote in a general election. In about half the states, you can vote in the primary or caucus if you are seventeen-years old but will be eighteen by the time of the general election.

You can easily check your state's age requirements. Go to the State Voting Requirements to get to the State Voter Information Directory to check your Eligibility Requirements.
