How old do I have to be to vote?

You must be 18 years old to vote in a General Election. In about half the states, you can vote in the primary or caucus if you are seventeen-years old, but will be eighteen by Election Day.

You can easily check your state's age requirements by visiting the State Voting Requirements page. Check in the “Eligibility Requirements” for the age when you can vote.
