Citizen organizations in your community may conduct voter registration drives. Depending on your situation, registering to vote through an organization such as this may be the easiest and most accessible way to register. Regardless of method, we encourage you to check that your voter registration application has been processed well in advance of the election. Your election official may notify you when your registration application has been processed, however if they do not, you will have to check.

To check if you are registered, go to our State Voting Requirements page, input your state, and click on the last tab labeled “State Lookup Tools – Am I Registered? Where’s my Ballot?”. Once this tab is opened, there should be many links – click on the link labeled “Am I Registered?”. This link will take you to your state’s website where you can input your information and confirm that you are registered.
